Migrating to Forge

Flowie on Forge

Flowie is now available on Forge, Atlassian’s current app platform and the home of new Bitbucket Cloud app capabilities.

As part of its Connect end-of-life process, Atlassian has announced that Bitbucket Cloud Connect apps reach end of support on 31 January 2027. This is not an immediate shutdown, but Connect will no longer receive updates or fixes. See Atlassian’s announcement and timeline for details.

Flowie’s features, configurations and subscription stay the same: they are kept by Flowie and carried over to the Forge app.

What to expect

Select Migrate to Forge in Flowie’s banner to get started. The app guides you through each step.

Forge apps cannot manage webhooks, so the migration starts with access tokens: Flowie uses them to keep webhooks in sync with your configurations. Once the tokens are set up, Flowie offers the Forge app’s installation.

The migration itself typically takes a few minutes after a workspace admin installs Flowie on Forge, and is automated: Flowie carries over your existing configuration, migrates its webhooks and branch restrictions, and disables the old Connect app modules. You don’t need to recreate your setup.

To finish, uninstall the Connect version once the Migration status page confirms that the automated steps are complete. Both versions can remain installed while the migration runs.

What changes

Flowie looks and works as before. These are the differences you may notice:

  • Access tokens: The Forge app relies on workspace or repository access tokens, or on Flowie’s Bitbucket authorization. App passwords and user API tokens are no longer required to enforce extended merge checks on Forge. These credentials were required on Connect following the breaking change Atlassian introduced in early June 2026. See Access tokens for Forge.

  • Pull requests page and cards: The Flowie Pull requests page and the Labels and Extended checks cards are visible on every repository, including those without a Flowie configuration. On unconfigured repositories, the cards offer admins a link to set Flowie up.

This is currently a Forge platform limitation: display conditions are not available to hide these modules on unconfigured repositories. You can vote for BCLOUD-24229 to support addressing this limitation.
